Anyone living on the North Shore has experienced the increased traffic density over the past few years. And although there is no quick fix, there are signs of improvement with regards to public transit.
Last spring, the SeaBus increased its service frequency which gives North Shore residents expanded transit options.
By the end of next year, the North Shore will have a B-Line rapid bus route, according to a recent announcement by TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond. This limited-stop, high-frequency bus route will provide service every 10 minutes or better during peak periods and 15 minutes or better during off-peak hours. All routes will operate at least 18 hours each day.
B-Line buses will travel along Marine Drive and 3rd Street between Dundarave in West Vancouver, Park Royal, Lower Lonsdale, and Phibbs Exchange, with stops such as Capilano Mall.
While we still have a ways to go in terms of alleviating the challenges of travelling on the North Shore, increased public transit options are a step in the right direction.
